SWAST patient transport options - Devon LMC statement to practices

Devon LMC doesn't support the latest communication from SWAST which is a locally driven initiative out of sync with a national line currently being developed. SWAST were fully aware of Devon LMC's concerns prior to the release of their communication. We have raised the issue to a national level where it is being vigorously debated ahead of a national solution to address response times to health care professionals.

Primary Care Network Handbook (Revised)

This handbook has been created to give advice and options to groups of practices looking to establish and develop a primary care network. Most of the major elements are interdependent, so conversations and decisions should not be made in isolation; we recommend reading the whole document before meeting with others to make decisions. For example, the structure that you decide to create  for your network will have an impact on how new network staff can be employed, and how funding may be distributed across the network. Click here to view

Investment and Evolution: A Five Year Framework for GP Contract Reform to Implement The NHS Long Term Plan

GPC England has negotiated a deal spanning the next five years. Elements will be introduced throughout the five years – 2019 will focus on building the foundations, creating Networks and starting to expand the workforce; 2020 onwards will see the workforce increase further, additional funding and services reconfigured (as decided by the networks).

The most substantial changes commence from April 2019. The changes should provide much needed support and resources for general practice, expanding the workforce, reducing workload, increasing funding, retaining GP and partnership autonomy and ensuring GPs have a leadership role at the centre of primary care.

GP Coaching Service

The LMC has launched a GP Coaching Programme primarily aimed at GPs who have reached a crossroads in their career and who would value a series of structured sessions to support their development.
