GMC - New guidance - Personal beliefs and medical practice
Extract from GMC Site - www.gmc-uk.org
We are currently holding a public consultation on a new piece of guidance, Personal beliefs and medical practice.
This guidance provides further explanation of the principles in Good Medical Practice that deal with doctors’ obligation to provide equitable access to care for all patients, and with doctors’ conscientious objections to particular forms of treatment. It also provides some examples of how these principles apply in practice. It is not intended to provide a comprehensive guide to religious or other beliefs and how these impact on medical care or treatment.
Alternatively you can obtain hard copies of the consultation documents from the GMC Standards & Ethics Team, Regent’s Place, 350 Euston Road, London NW1 3JN (telephone 020 7189 5404, email standards.consult@gmc-uk.org.
The consultation will run for eight weeks from Friday 27 July to Friday 21 September 2007. To take part in the consultation - Site
