Voluntary Levy - 2009 (Note for Purple Pages and Web Site 26 May)
Further to my recent note about the 2009 voluntary levy, we have now heard from the GPDF that the rebate for approximately 20% of the 2008 voluntary levy amounts to £14,160.60. This rebate will be set off against the 2009 levy already set at £65,000 leaving a total sum to be drawndown for 2009 of £50,839.40.
This 2009 drawdown for £50,389.40 will be made in June 2009 by the PCSS (Primary Care Support Services).
For any new practices since last year and for those who did not reply last year, a new mandate for completion will be sent to you shortly. All LMC member representatives urge your co-operation in paying this levy, resulting in a fair and reasonable cost to all. You wil recall that the LMC is merely a collection agency for this levy as the total amount drawndown is remitted to the GPDF.
Please note that PMS practices already receive allowance for this payment in their baselines, so no mandates will be issued to these practices. The amount will be automatically deducted by the PCSS.
If you have any queries about the voluntary levy please do not hesitate to contact the office.
